Maple Star – In-Home Safety and Reunification Services

Maple Star offers intensive family support services across eight Oregon counties. Their In-Home Safety and Reunification Services (ISRS) aim to address immediate safety threats while connecting families to formal, informal, and natural resources that will foster long-term change and success within their families.

Therapeutic Foster Care of Maple Star

Children removed from their families due to various reasons require safe, loving homes in which to thrive. Foster care gives these children an opportunity to be part of a family while developing skills essential for future success as adults. Furthermore, foster parents often serve as mentors and educators alongside providing care.

Traditional Foster Care

Youth who enter foster care have diverse and complex needs. Many have been exposed to prolonged stress or trauma and therefore require higher-level care than Traditional Foster Care can offer. Kairos offers Therapeutic Foster Care as a solution, in which certified Maple Star foster families work alongside teams of professionals in providing an individual service plan tailored specifically to each youngster living within their home.

Significant Behavioral Problems

This service program is available to children ages four to 18 who have experienced serious trauma and/or significant behavioral problems. Foster families in this program are specially trained to understand trauma’s impact and help their clients overcome past experiences, while receiving professional support and training to effectively handle crisis situations and build skills necessary for post planning success.

Monitored by A Social Worker

Maple Star foster care providers are monitored by a social worker who reviews their performance against standards set forth in Performance Guidelines for Foster Parents and other policy documents. Consultation includes identifying problems in performance as well as suggesting ways to address them with family care providers.

Foster parents in need can call the Maple Star 24-hour hotline and connect with an experienced parent mentor, offering them support and guidance as they search for resources within their local community.

Licensed Social Worker Duties
